about

All of these songs were written, recorded and mixed* on the lands of The Wurundjeri People of The Kulin Nation. Brenda would like to acknowledge them as the traditional custodians of the land and pay respects to elders past, present and emerging.

Except for 'What A Trip' (which was written and recorded in Korea Town/Tsuruhashi in Osaka. Thank you so much to Hiro for having me stay in his guest house, and Kazamoto for the artwork)

Always Was, Always Will Be, Aboriginal Land.

This album is a 'best of' compilation for those wanna cover the most Brenda ground with out wading through all 6 albums of the Brenda sound. Here you'll find 15 carefully selected tunes from those 6 albums. Those Albums are 'Think Nothing Of It', 'You're No Barry White', 'Wiggy', 'What A Trip', 'Hangin' In, Hangin Out' and 'Love It'.

Thanks you to friends for contributing additional instrumentation (Darvid Thor and Jon DiNapoli). Thanks to Max Dowling for mixing the 'Think Nothing Of It' and 'You're No Barry White', and for Mastering all 6 albums. I couldn't have done it without your help.

Photo credits for David Valkenet on the album artwork for 'Think Nothing Of It'. Daniel Sutton for the artwork on 'You're No Barry White'. Lachlan 'Laneous Mitchell' for the photo on the front cover of 'Wiggy'. Thank you to Kazamoto aka Stuart for the art for 'What A Trip'. Thanks to my mum Liane for the photo of us on the front cover of 'Love It'. And Thanks to Lauren Parker for the photo on 'The Very Best Of Brenda' album art.

Thanks to all my friends and family for the constant love and support.
Hopefully this 'best of' album gets you on board with the rest of the discography.

Can't wait to make more music for you.

Cheers,

Brenda.

about

Brenda Melbourne, Australia

Brenda is the grill'd solo project of Melbourne based drummer Hudson Whitlock. Smooooshing Funk/Soul feels with dull boy whimzies, Brenda aims to incorporate the different stylings of music within him. So far, he has already recorded 2 albums in his aunties bedroom, with a vintage dell laptop, straight to the trash can. Whether you're Barry White or not, think nothing of it. Wiggy. xx ... more
